More than ever, the return to craftsmanship, proximity and authenticity is a response to new consumer behaviour and the challenges of the future. Learn the techniques of the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France Lunetiers by taking part in a 30-minute workshop at the next SILMO.



The M.O.F. Lunetiers school: tailor-made transmission of eyewear expertise

Training modules are offered on an à la carte basis, depending on the project and the level of skill involved:

  • Eyewear design: the keys to creating your collection
  • Taking measurements, drawing up a design and shaping a frame
  • Production of eyewear prototypes cut using a spectacle-maker's router
  • Designing, shaping and assembling a metal frame
  • Making frames from natural materials
  • Setting up an eyewear workshop
  • Computer-aided design and use of digitally-controlled machines
  • Producing eyewear prototypes using 3D printing
  • Dressing frames with the rigour of industrial production
  • Acetate decoration and metal treatment
  • Further training



"The Design Challenge was conceived by the MOF Lunetiers as a real team challenge: getting design students and trainees from the School of Eyewear to work together. The result? Highly eclectic frames, both in terms of shape and inspiration. Different visions of the "eyewear" object and, above all, wonderful stories of transmission and sharing, waiting to be discovered.
