SILMO Academy supports a research project in the field of optics and vision science
SILMO Academy has set itself the goal of supporting professionals working in ophthalmic optics in their quest for excellence by proposing workshops and a scientific symposium where they can enhance their knowledge and
share ideas with experts from every field.
Since 2016, SILMO Academy has chosen to support a research project in the field of optics and vision science. Every year it is offering a €10,000 grant for a project submitted by an individual researcher or research team, with the winning project selected by the scientific committee.
Andronikos Chrysanthopoulos
PROJECT: Accommodation Function in a Healthy Caucasian Population Aged 18–28 Years
Andronikos Chrysanthopoulos is an MSc Optician–Optometrist and PhD candidate at the University of West Attica, with extensive clinical experience. He specializes in refraction and binocular vision and is a regular contributor to scientific journals, as well as an active participant in international optometry conferences. His strong research background includes publications in peer-reviewed journals.


Terms of participation
Eligibility criteria
- To have a research project in the field of Vision and Optics Sciences
- Presentation of the project in French and English only.
Project applications to be submitted by September 3, 2026, including:
- A curriculum vitae
- A complete project presentation
- The methodology
- Resources available (sponsorship, internship supervisor, grants already obtained, etc.)
- The resources required to complete the project.
Receipt of projects:
- Selection of the 3 best projects by the Scientific Advisory Board.
- In September: an oral presentation of the selected projects may be required.
- At SILMO Paris: announcement and presentation of the winner during the SILMO Academy conference.
