FACTORY900 is an eyewear brand launched in 2000 by Aoyama Optical Co., Ltd., which was founded in 1937 in Sabae, Fukui—Japan’s largest eyewear manufacturing hub.
Drawing on the technical expertise and experience gained from manufacturing products for numerous brands over many years, designer Yoshinori Aoyama launched the brand with the vision of “freely expressing the designs we want to create.” The company established an integrated system that handles everything in-house, from planning and design to production.
FACTORY900’s most distinctive feature lies in its three-dimensional forms, created through proprietary plastic molding technology. The overwhelming sense of volume and sculptural, streamlined lines enable bold shapes that would have been unthinkable with conventional acetate processing, resulting in original designs that transcend the boundaries of traditional eyewear.
These one-of-a-kind designs have been highly acclaimed worldwide, earning the brand international recognition—including two Grand Prix awards at “Silmo d’Or”.
