As part of its ambition to encourage its entire community to take an active role in the world of optics, and not just watch from the sidelines, SILMO is giving design students a new opportunity to express themselves.

To stimulate creativity and provide a springboard for future generations of designers, SILMO PARIS launched the Optical Design Competition last year.

As part of its ambition to encourage its entire community to take an active role in the world of optics, and not just watch from the sidelines, SILMO is dedicating this new forum to design students. SILMO's aim? To catalyse trends by stimulating and revealing the nuggets that will shape the optics of tomorrow.

Thanks to its visionary approach, SILMO gives these students the opportunity to demonstrate their know-how, highlight their conception of this sphere of optics and explore its countless possibilities.

The 2023 winner

This year's winner is Hugo Plessis, from ESDAC, with his TRIBI goggles, designed for professional biathlon/triathlon athletes.

The aim for the athlete is to save time and improve comfort during the event. Thanks to these multi-function goggles, there's no need to have one pair of goggles for swimming and another pair for running and cycling.

The visor is entirely flexible, making it comfortable and easy for the athlete to use.
